Anxiety Therapy in Manchester

Living with anxiety can feel exhausting and overwhelming. Whether it shows up as racing thoughts, panic, constant worry, or a sense of unease you can’t quite explain, it can begin to affect every part of life. You don’t have to manage it all on your own.

As a BACP-registered therapist, I offer one-to-one anxiety therapy in Manchester. Our sessions provide a calm, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment or pressure. We’ll work together to understand your experience of anxiety and find ways to manage it in a way that feels right for you.

If you’d like to explore whether therapy for anxiety could help, I’m here to talk.

Understanding Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many different ways. You might experience racing thoughts, a tight chest, restlessness, trouble sleeping or a constant feeling that something isn’t quite right. For some people, anxiety is linked to a specific situation. For others, it’s a general sense of worry or unease that never fully goes away.

Anxiety can affect how you think, how you feel in your body, and how you relate to the world around you. It may make everyday situations feel overwhelming or leave you second-guessing yourself long after the moment has passed. Over time, it can chip away at your confidence, energy and sense of control.

You don’t need a formal diagnosis or a clear reason to seek support. If anxiety is affecting your life, therapy can help.

How Anxiety Therapy Can Help

Therapy gives you the space to explore how anxiety is showing up for you and what might be fuelling it. We won’t try to get rid of anxiety overnight, but we can begin to understand it, work with it and reduce the impact it has on your day-to-day life.

Together, we might explore:

  • What tends to trigger your anxious thoughts or responses

  • How anxiety affects your thinking, behaviour and relationships

  • Strategies to ground yourself during anxious moments

  • How to respond to worry with more self-compassion and less judgement

  • Past experiences or beliefs that might be contributing to your anxiety today

The aim is not to eliminate all anxiety. It’s to help you feel more steady, more in control, and more connected to yourself.

My Approach

Anxiety often comes with a strong internal pressure — to hold it together, to hide how you feel, or to just get on with things. I offer a space where you don’t need to do any of that. You don’t need to explain why you’re anxious or prove that it’s valid. You can just show up.

I work from a person-centred approach, which means we’ll begin with how anxiety is showing up for you. That might be racing thoughts, physical symptoms, avoidance or constant overthinking. Our sessions will be paced around what feels manageable. You won’t be pushed into strategies or exposure exercises unless that’s something you want to try.

When appropriate, I draw on elements of CBT or TA to help you understand what’s fuelling your anxiety and how you might respond differently. But the focus isn’t on “fixing” anxiety. It’s on helping you feel more in control of how you live with it.

Why work with me

I’m a Level-4 Certified, BACP-registered therapist (you can see my credentials here) with experience supporting people who live with anxiety in all its forms. Whether your anxiety feels mild but persistent, or intense and overwhelming, I’ll meet you where you are and help you make sense of it.

You don’t have to pretend you’re coping or explain why you feel the way you do. You’re allowed to show up exactly as you are. I’ll offer a calm, supportive space where your experience is taken seriously and explored with care.
